A Library Resource Centre is available for members of the Scugog community. Programs and Services that are offered include:

Community Access Program (CAP)

The Community Access Program (CAP) establishes public Internet access sites in communities, nationwide. CAP sites are available for learning, developing skills, accessing government services and creating business opportunities.

Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation is a part of this initiative, offering free Internet access to the general public. Four computers are available for use and it is recommended they be booked in advance.

Also, the library at Scugog contains a book lending program, a children’s area, and a VHS/DVD lending program.

   This database was developed for teens with their unique concerns in mind. It is award winning and provides curricular support and self-help on topics including disease, drugs & alcohol, nutrition, mental & emotional health, cyber literacy, family life, sexuality and more. All content is reviewed by leading professionals and features are updated weekly.

   This database has been designed to help students and others plan their future. Users are able to access hundreds of detailed occupation profiles from Actuary to Zookeeper. Profiles include: job descriptions, working conditions, education and training, earnings, and links to related occupations and other resources. It provides a national database of post-secondary schools which includes detailed information on colleges, universities and other training opportunities.

   One of the most important genealogical collections available today, Ancestry Library Edition contains thousands of databases and billions of names including key collections spanning the 14th century to present day.  It has coverage of census, church, court, and immigration records for the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, as well as record collections from other areas around the world.

   This database includes automotive repair information on most manufacturers of domestic and imported vehicles and includes:

·         more than 33,800 vehicles from 1945 to the present

·         nearly  800,000 drawings and step-by step photographs

·         approximately 83,200 technical service bulletins and recalls

·         over 130,000 enhanced wiring diagrams for easy viewing and printing

·         specifications and maintenance schedules

·         a complete guide to vehicle ownership and maintenance
